Autumn in the Vineyards

Created 05/10/11 07:04 | Last change 05/12/11 06:59
We had another Vineyard Workshop this weekend, all the vineyards just starting to turn into their autumn colours & some amazing light & cloud displays. Our first shoot on Friday afternoon was at Uva Mira & stopped a few times on the way up to get shots of the mountains from below & then move up to get the last light with views all the way to Cape Town.

Our next shoot on Saturday morning was at Jordan, had a good sunrise & decided to walk around a bit more this time to find some new opportunities. That afternoon was at Rustenberg & went to my favourite dam & saw a few possibilities on the way in, so rushed back to get them before the light faded. I took a little break & just wandered around until we had some gold light on the mountains & it just got better & better & got a few with interesting purple skies quite a while after the sun set.

The last shoot on Sunday morning was at Thelema. The light was dancing around the landscape popping through windows in the cloud, again walked to some new vantage points, but had to return to the interesting gums & poplars at the bottom of the road & play with a few slow exposures & movement.

It was good to get back to landscapes & took a while to get into it again, but am keen to get to them a bit more over the next month or two with the crazy Autumn skies.
